Baked Chicken in Wine Sauce

This recipe came from the mother of woman I worked with when I was 22. I was just learning how to cook and had basically no skills. This couldn’t be easier, and it’s still a go-to recipe.

– 1 whole or 3 large chicken breasts
– 1/4 c. Rose wine (I usually end up using red wine because I have it on hand)
– 1/4 c. Soy sauce
– 1/4 c. Salad oil (I use olive oil)
– 2 T. Water
– 1 clove garlic, minced or mashed
– 1 t. Ginger
– 1/4 t. Oregano
– 1 T. Brown sugar

Mix sauce. Pour over chicken. Bake at 375• for 1 1/2 hours in a covered dish. Chicken breasts take less time– about 1 hour 10 minutes. I serve it with rice, usually brown basmati rice. Eat up!
