The Genesis

I’ve been thinking about this blog for a long time, and it’s finally happening. All I needed was a day at home with a sick kid who needed to sleep a lot.

Now, it has come to my attention over the years that food blogs are not few in number. And there are lots of good ones out there. However,  it has also come to my attention that “easy” for some people is not “easy” for me;  that the speed at which I chop things is not normal for people who write about food; and that Allrecipes recipes are created by people utterly allergic to spice. I want endorsement from people I know, or friends of people I know, that are similarly sluggish in food prep but determined to expand their repertoire.

I created five categories: Fast, Healthy, Kid-Friendly, Impressive-But-Easy, and Worth The Effort. The latter two could use a bit of explanation. “Impressive-But-Easy” is all about dinner party food. What can you serve friends that looks like it’s harder that it is? “Worth The Effort” is about Date Night, or whenever you’re willing to put in a bit more time to create something better than average.
